THE JUNIOR DANIELS
BACKGROUND PHILOSOPHY
There's little doubt that football has a lot to offer the next generation of enthusiastic playground participants. The focus of our classes is very much on having fun, offering professionally run training classes for boys and girls of all abilities. This will give all children a helping hand to stand on their own two feet and a head start in sport.

We aim to install a little extra confidence, co-ordination, control and sense of camaraderie to children aged 2-7 years. We provide a positive, fun filled football programme executed in a friendly, pressure-free environment. Our quest is to teach fundamental football techniques and elementary life skills in a vibrant, group play environment.

Learning social skills will be of vital importance to the children in our age groups. The classes are designed to greatly enhance social skills such as listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork. Simple learning concepts like colours and numbers are included in our sessions along with basic balance, agility and co-ordination.

We offer a gently staggered learning environment for all our students, an enjoyable yet challenging pre-school football programme that is safe and always stays strictly within the students comfort zone.

Alongside the development board we wish to extend the pathway of football opportunities encouraging players to develop their understanding of the game whilst improving technique and tactical awareness.

AGE APPROPRIATE CLASSES
Classes are split into age groups to help ensure the pupils are receiving coaching designed specifically for their ability. The three classes are listed below with an outline of what to expect in that class.

2-3½ : The class is encouraged to participate in structured games and imaginative free-play. Basic ball skills are covered including multi-directional dribbling and striking. The children will be given the confidence to step away from their parents to stand on their own two feet.

Sessions aim to help improve a child's physical dexterity, particularly in the lower limbs and feet through a variety of ball balancing games. Enables pupils to change direction comfortably with the ball at their feet. Parents of this age group are asked to participate and have fun to allow their child to be as involved as possible and to gradually build up their own independence. It is important that children aren't encouraged to embark on anything for which they aren't mentally or physically ready.

3½-5: Classes are designed to continue the improvement in physical and social confidence. Greater emphasis on first touch play. Introduction of shielding and defensive positions. Use of team games to introduce team awareness. Increased concentration on instructions and directions given to help accomplish tasks.

5-7: Self-initiated play, excited and vigorous participation leading to rapid improvement. Practice - The more you do it, the better you get. Focus on how to perform a skill.

All classes are designed to be parent-friendly with the use of three coaches to ensure appropriate coaching ratios and allow hard-working parents to enjoy a short, well-earned break and socialise with like-minded parents.
